VALORES CULTURALES DE LA COMUNIDAD HISPANA / CULTURAL VALUES OF HISPANIC COMMUNITY [6]

P O S S E S S I O N S

The need and desire for basic items, as well as luxuries, bring many Hispanics to the United States. Here they can earn better salaries and can afford many typical American possessions. They work, save, and sacrifice to purchase homes, cars, and other items familiar to the American lifestyle. The overemphasis in America on wealth and the accumulation of wealth have an effect upon Hispanics, for they also are becoming more materialistic.

YOUNG MAN’S DREAM: The pickups below are examples of what lots of guys work hard to buy. Hispanic young men are no exemption. Any Hispanic community is filled with custom designed pickups that are status symbols, personal and national identities of who they are and what they dream of. For many it is a dream of success, “the American dream” that they can literally drive around in or drive to their home country to show off. Our goal is to help them to see that there is more to life than ’things’, but Him who saves!
